Milosh Ristovski - Secretary General
Milosh comes from Kumanovo (Macedonia) where he was working as head of CID for over 8 years. Being a trainer for over 10 years and part of the Advisory Council on Youth of the Council of Europe, Milosh is familiar with JEF Europe for having been its official trainer of our work plan's international seminars for about 7 years.
He's been appointed as new Secretary General of JEF Europe in April 2018. During the next two years, his main objective will be to strengthen JEF Europe and its sections throughout Europe, to help them develop to ensure JEF's political impact grows even stronger at all levels.
He is in charge of the daily leadership and management of the organisation and the staff team based in Brussels.
Christopher Glück - President
Chris has been active in JEF since 2008 and is the President of JEF Europe since 2015. As a result of the increase of activities and budget of JEF Europe, the Federal Committee took a decision to transform the president's position into a full-time role as of November 2018. Chris has a background in history, political science and EU law. Before working for JEF full-time he has been working on EU economic affairs first as a government official at the UK Treasury and then as a policy adviser for a member of the European Parliament. He is a keen traveller, a foodie and, as a failed handball player, a team sports enthusiast.
Alejandra Oriola Almarcha - Policy Officer
Alejandra Oriola Almarcha was born in Spain. She obtained her degree in Law at the University of Alicante, where she did her final thesis on international and European migration law. She also holds a master’s degree in Human Rights and Democratisation from the Global Campus of Human Rights in Venice, Italy. As part of her programme she went to Strasbourg, France, to research on the European Citizens’ Initiative as a push for a democratic reform within the European Union.
In addition to being a Schuman trainee in the Human Rights Action Unit of the European Parliament, she has interned at the NATO Defense College in Rome and the Permanent Representation of Spain to the Council of Europe.
Marine Betrancourt - Communication & Project Officer
Marine is from Lyon (France) where she studied political sciences and public law. True European, she interned Monash Europe & EU Centre at Monash University in Melbourne for a better taste of Europe from down under and has been involved for years within AEGEE/ European Students’ Forum, as well as various European youth projects.
Michal Rybacki - Project Officer
Michał was born in Poland and joined JEF’s Secretariat after interning at the European Parliament and NATO as well as promoting human rights and youth social engagement with several NGOs. Holding Master’s degrees in International Relations and Peace & Conflict Studies, he considers European integration the most successful peacebuilding process in history.
Michał’s main role is the coordination of the project European Youth Together: Road to the Future, which aims to increase young people’s democratic participation before and after the elections to the European Parliament in May 2019.
Loris Birkemeyer - European Voluntary Service
Loris grew up in Nîmes, in the South of France. After a year working in a Bavarian high school as a Teaching assistant, he moved to Strasbourg, the heart of Europe, where he was involved with JEF Strasbourg for two years. He moved to Brussels in August.
As European Voluntary Service he will be helping with communication and supporting the implementation of Europe at School activities in Belgium and all across Europe.
Emilie Vandam - Admin & logistics Officer
Emilie is from Belgium. She first studied history in Louvain-la-Neuve (Belgium), specializing into European integration, before going to Poland for a year where she graduated from the master in European interdisciplinary studies a the College of Europe. Convinced by the necessity of the EU project, she was a member of the JEF Louvain La Neuve section before joining the Secretariat as an intern.
Irene Queralt, Project assistant
Irene is from Spain. She moved to London to study International Relations and Arabic at the University of Westminster, where her final research project focused on federalism and democratic governance in multinational states. She also holds a Master's degree in International Relation from King's College London. Before joining JEF, she has worked as a democratic processes analyst at Minsait and has been involved in several projects as part of the Democratic Education Network.
Mar Sanchez, Project assistant
Having studied audiovisual communication and recently graduated in Master of Business Administration, she had the opportunity to study in both Singapore and Brazil. With experience in the private sector on communication and marketing projects, she was involved in international social projects, one in Jordan as a volunteer at Caritas where she had the opportunity to be part at the organization committee of the World peace forum in Amman celebrated in 2017.
